Wytham Woods is a 1000-acre woodland, owned and maintained by the University of Oxford since 1942. It is one of the most researched pieces of woodland in the world, exceptionally rich in flora and fauna, with over 500 species of plants, a wealth of woodland habitats, and 800 species of butterflies and moths.
To maintain the Woods and fund conservation and community projects, Wytham relies on generous support to ensure that you and others can continue to enjoy the woodland for many years to come.
We have exciting plans to plant a new woodland, Bear Wood, that will have a vital role in the future of Wytham and its surrounding environment, which includes extracting and storing carbon dioxide from the air and providing a habitat for a wealth of wildlife.
