Giving to the Touch Rugby Club
The Oxford University Touch Rugby Club (OUTRC) was founded in 2023. However, our history dates back nearly two decades. Following the 2003 Rugby World Cup, England provided the Oxford University Rugby Football Club (OURFC) a development grant to host a Touch Rugby Cuppers. The next decade refined this one-day tournament. In 2015, OURFC Touch formed as a sub-committee to improve the sport's offering across the year. Following our inaugural British Universities & Colleges Sports (BUCS) season, Oxford University approved the creation of a new, independent sports club; the first in recent history.
Today, OUTRC competes in the BUCS championships against other universities, in the Varsity matches against Cambridge, and in the Town vs. Gown series against Oxford City. We also host active events to improve the sporting experience at Oxford, including an outreach tournament in Michaelmas term and an intercollegiate cuppers tournament in Trinity term. What's more, we are especially committed to building a positive and healthy club culture; one focused on competitive excellence, inclusivity, and team spirit.
We are very grateful for your investment in our tradition of excellence! In the first instance, we hope to raise £3,000 to fulfill transportation, competition entry, and facility hire for the year.
Here are some ways your donation can make a difference:
- £10 will pay for a team training session.
- £25 will pay for a player's term performance subscription.
- £50 will pay for an official Touch Rugby match ball.
- £100 will pay for our affiliation with the national governing body, the England Touch Association.
- £250 will pay for a BUCS championship team entry for 16 players.
- £500 will pay for a physio and medical support at a match.
- £1,000 will cover our training costs for the year, namely facility hire.
- £2,000 will subsidise the Varsity matches, another opportunity to beat Cambridge, including facility hire, medical support, referees, etc.
- £3,000 will cover our regular season expenses, including competition entry, transportation, medical support, and facility hire.
In recognition, all contributors will:
- be invited to the Varsity matches against Cambridge and the intercollegiate cuppers tournament.
- receive a season letter and periodic updates from the OUTRC president.
- have their names listed on the OUTRC website.
- have the opportunity to coordinate a visit to Oxford University, to include, for example, a college tour, formal dinner, and/or player introductions.
Additional donations will support: coaching, equipment, kit, travel, player development and team-building activities. As a long-term goal, we'd like to commission our own Touch Rugby pitch. Thank you for your support and generosity!
