Oxford University Rugby Fives Club
Oxford University Rugby Fives Club (OURFvC) was founded in the early 1920s, with the first Varsity Match being played in 1925 – and every year since then other than 1940-45. Its main aims are to encourage new players to take up the sport by providing a warm and welcoming environment whilst also allowing experienced players to improve their game, with three training sessions a week and many competitive fixtures and national competitions around the country. This approach means squad members past and present have been consistently ranked in the top 20 in the country, with many individuals also winning national competitions.
However, to maintain this high standard the club does need support. Donations allow OURFvC to continue providing or subsidising training, kit and equipment for new players and ensure subscriptions, transport, and entrance costs are not a barrier to participation and so ensuring Rugby Fives continues to flourish at Oxford University.
Here are some of the ways in which your donation can make a difference:
- £5 will pay for a Rugby Fives ball.
- £20 will pay for one player’s annual subscription.
- £35 will pay for a pair of gloves.
- £50 will cover affiliation costs for one season.
- £200 will pay for the entire team’s playing kit.
- £250 will cover the team’s entrance costs for all competitions in one season.
- £300 will pay for the entire team’s travel to and from the Varsity match.
- £500 will pay for coaching for an entire season.
- £600 will cover all transport costs throughout a season.
