Oxford University Canoe and Kayak Club

Formally founded in 1960, OUCKC is one of the oldest university paddlesport clubs in the country.

We cover white water, canoe polo, marathon, and freestyle, as well as offering coaching and trips for everyone, from beginners learning the fundamentals of paddlesport, all the way to experienced whitewater river runners.

We are a successful club, competing in the annual BUCS canoe polo and whitewater race events, being undefeated in the Varsity match since 2008/09, and competing in the national freestyle competition NSR. However, the heart of OUCKC remains in its shared passion for playing around in boats out on the water.

At present, OUCKC faces a serious challenge. The shed we currently lease is planned to be demolished to make way for a new multi-use shed that is being built by Keble College. Keble College have offered us our own designated space within the new shed – provided that we can raise £20k towards the £70k total cost. In light of this, we are appealing to all our friends and alumni to help secure OUCKC’s future. We have raised the majority of the funds, but we need a final push to help us reach our target.

The new shed will include toilet and kitchen facilities, allowing us to store more safety equipment, boats, and kit, and, more importantly, it will provide a long-term home for the club.

Please help us to provide a safe environment for more individuals to progress and develop their paddling skills by donating towards the new shed. All contributions, great and small, are greatly appreciated! Just follow the links on this page. OUCKC love!
