Fencing Club

Oxford University Fencing Club (OUFC) was founded in 1891, making it one of the oldest fencing clubs in the country. OUFC has had outstanding performance in recent years, both as teams and individually. The club has seen the Men’s Second team promoted, with all teams consistently achieving great results in BUCS while the club’s individual fencers have excelled with top 10 UK rankings, including providing a Women’s Sabre champion.

Looking to the future, OUFC is particularly keen on encouraging beginners. There is a Novice Varsity match and novice fencers go on to compete in their own right and make it onto the First and Second teams.

In order to offer our members, old and new, the opportunity to pursue their goals and continue our high level of achievement OUFC would like to subsidise activities such as training and teaching. However, the cost of coaching and equipment restricts the extent to which our members can fence.

The club therefore appeals to former members to support the future of the club by making a donation.

Donors in the US can give tax-effectively via Americans For Oxford (AFO).
