Oxford University Equestrian Club
Oxford University Equestrian Club strives to offer a fun and inclusive environment for the aspiring rider. The club is proud to offer membership to all Oxford University students, seeing a large intake of members take up the sport for the first time whilst also supporting talented athletes to fulfil their potential in dressage, showjumping and eventing.
The club has gone from strength to strength, with talented riders taking part in trials for national teams and a recent alumnus captaining the Student GB riders team. OUEC is particularly proud that in 2016 for the first ever time it hosted a thirds Varsity match for developing squad members as well as the 1st and 2nd team matches, and that this is now to become a permanent fixture in the club’s future.
In order to be able to support athletes from all backgrounds, OUEC aims to subsidise or fully cover the costs of team training. As our teams have grown and the cost of hiring horses has risen the club needs support in order to be able to continue to support its members’ development. In addition to this the club would like to be able to realise exciting opportunities such as competing at the L’etudiants EDHEC jumping competition in Nice and hosting the Varsity match at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
Donations would be used to subsidise team training and transport costs in order to make sure that all students in Oxford have equal opportunity to benefit from OUEC.
