Baseball Club

Since its reformation in 2017, the Oxford University Baseball Club (OUBSC) has worked hard to build up baseball in England. The first-team Rangers compete at the top level of British university baseball, while at the same time the OUBSC offers developmental sessions to new players. From 2017 to 2019 the OUBSC went from a small, informal group of students to winning the Southwest Division and finishing as the runners-up in the National University Baseball Championships. The OUBSC is now seeking to obtain Half-Blue status and become an Oxford University recognized team.

Baseball is an equipment intensive sport and in the long-term the OUBSC cannot solely rely on players to provide gear. Additionally, as baseball becomes a BUCS sport, adding an additional weekly training session is a pre-requisite for remaining competitive at the national level. That is why we are asking for help. Here are some of the ways that your donation can make a difference:

  • £20 will pay for a set of game baseballs
  • £50 will pay to hire an umpire for a match
  • £150 will pay for an L-screen
  • £300 will pay for a baseball bat
  • £500 will pay for a pitching machine and balls
  • £1,000 will cover our practice costs for the year

One of OUBSC’s long-term goals is to build our own baseball field. If you are interested in donating for this purpose, please get in touch.

Donors in the US can give tax-effectively via Americans For Oxford (AFO).
