The Medical Student Hardship Fund was set up to help Oxford’s clinical medical students take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the course – whatever their financial circumstances. The Hardship Fund has helped students with buying clinical equipment and computers, and with general living expenses.
All clinical medical students are invited to apply to the Fund and money is distributed annually. Priority is given to students who have experienced an unexpected change of circumstance – for example, unanticipated redundancy or illness in their family or other events that might threaten their ability to stay on the course. In some cases, support from the Fund has provided a breathing space for students who were working part-time to stay afloat, and suffering damage to their studies as a result.
Contributions to this fund will make a real difference to individual students and help them to achieve their potential.
