The Medical Sciences Division is at the forefront of world-leading research and innovation to transform human health.

With access to the world’s largest sets of patient data, and hosting more than 5,800 academics, researchers and academics staff, 2,300 graduates and 1,800 undergraduate students, it has been ranked No. 1 in the world for Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Health for the 12th year running (Times Higher Education World University Rankings).

We are leading the fight against the world’s most pressing health challenges including cancer and infectious diseases. We also run research programmes investigating cardiovascular diseases, musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis and osteoporosis, and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. Our current thematic priority areas for fundraising include global health, brain health, cardiovascular health, and cancer.

To maintain Oxford’s position as the world’s leading centre for medical sciences research, the University is committed to:
