Providing graduate students opportunities to shape the future of law.

What allowed you to succeed in your legal studies? What has helped you to build the career you have today?

For as many as 50% of graduate offer-holders, funding is a barrier to accepting their place at Oxford Law. We want to ensure fewer students must face the agonising decision of turning down their offer. Could you help change that?

“The personal and financial support I have received has been absolutely critical in my pursuit of my dreams at Oxford. I know firsthand the difference that such support can make in breaking down barriers to both undergraduate and postgraduate higher education, and I would like to emphasise that financial support can have an incredible impact on the journeys of students like me.”

Tackling society's most pressing problems

At Oxford law we are committed to equipping the best graduate students to go on to tackle the most pressing problems facing societies around the world. The best students are not always the ones most able to afford to study at Oxford.

Your gift to the Dean’s Scholars Fund, whatever size, will help us make sure finances are not a barrier to these future problem solvers studying at Oxford.

“It is a privilege to be an MJur candidate at Oxford. I have hugely valued the opportunity to discuss and critique ideas with scholars of diverse backgrounds, and to explore my interest in international law, corporation law and commercial disputes. I would like to thank all those who have made this beautiful opportunity possible through their generosity.”

"My DPhil centres on the regulation and role of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) technologies in net zero strategies. It has been very rewarding to know my work is valued and so generously supported by the Dean’s Trust. Prior to my DPhil I served as a Policy Fellow for the German government. There we implemented climate policy conceived by scholars who are now my colleagues in Oxford. In this context I experienced the relevance of Oxford thought leadership for legislators and courts first-hand.”

Can we do more?

Scholarships support talented scholars like Martje to come to Oxford and put their ideas into practice. Since 2021, over £130,000 has been generously donated to fund 12 scholarships. With your support, we can do more.
