Freedom of Information
The University is subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This requires us to disclose the information requested unless it is covered by one or more exemptions, which are applied on a case by case basis. Most of the exemptions are also subject to a public interest test.
The University receives from time to time requests about donations and it may be required to disclose details that relate to specific gifts. Should the University intend to provide information that goes beyond the donor name, the programme supported and the gift band (e.g.: £25,000 - £49,999), it will consult with the donor in advance of providing the information under the Act.
